Two Mental Health Counselor Positions Available:
This position is responsible to provide Mental Health Counseling services to individuals, youth, and families. This position ensures quality service delivery and applicable legal and procedural compliance.   Counseling focus includes drug/alcohol use prevention, intervention, and treatment; family reunification; Play Therapy; crisis counseling, solution focused services. The person in this position provides optimal client care using the knowledge and skills of a counseling process and human care environment.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
 

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year university with a major in Social Sciences or a related field is required.
  • Master’s Degree in counseling may be required; registration with a California and/or Nevada based agency as an intern or licensed therapist and all subsequent requirements may be required; M.F.T., L.C.S.W. or M.F.T. / L.C.S.W. registered intern may be required.
  • Preference given if candidate is a California and/or Nevada Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
  • At least two years’ experience in individual, youth and family counseling, including drug & alcohol use prevention, intervention and treatment.
  • At least one year of case management experience.
  • Special consideration will be given to persons with knowledge of community-based organizations.
  • Special consideration will be given to persons who speak and understand Spanish.


Location – One Counselor is needed for our Gardnerville, NV office and the second one is for our South Lake Tahoe Office

Substance Abuse Counselor Needed:
This position is responsible to provide Drug/alcohol Counseling services to individuals, youth, and families. This position ensures quality service delivery and applicable legal and procedural compliance. The person in this position provides optimal client care using the knowledge and skills of a counseling process and human care environment.

  • Must be a licensed Nevada Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
  • At least two years’ experience in drug & alcohol use prevention, intervention and treatment with individuals, youth and families.

  • Special consideration will be given to persons with knowledge of community-based organizations.
  • Special consideration will be given to persons who speak and understand Spanish.
