The Tahoe Mentor Program
The Tahoe Mentor Program is a free program for children and youth ages 4-18 in the South Lake Tahoe area (South Lake Tahoe CA, Zephyr Cove NV and Stateline NV) and Alpine County California who have a parent in jail or prison. The program pairs volunteers with youth to provide emotional support, encouragement, and practical assistance. Contact person for this program is Eli Stevenson, Mentor Coordinator. You may reach her at eli@tahoeyouth.org or 530-541-2445.
The Alpine County Mentor Program
The Alpine County Program is almost identical to the Tahoe Mentor Program with the exception of one thing; the children and youth in the Alpine County Mentor Program do NOT have to have a parent who has been incarcerated. Any youth ages 4-18 can participate in this program. Mentors for this program can come from the Alpine County or the South Lake Tahoe area. Contact person for this program is Betty Craft, Alpine Mentor Coordinator. You may reach her at betty@tahoeyouth.org or 775-781-1675.
